Kontraktor Engkar Muafakat Kerajaan Selangor-TNB

RAWANG 9 Oktober - Tindakan kontraktor Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) yang tidak mempedulikan arahan memberhentikan kerja- kerja pembinaan daripada Kerajaan Negeri adalah amat dikesali.

Sikap angkuh kontraktor terbabit adalah berlawanan dengan muafakat yang dicapai dalam satu mesyuarat minggu lalu antara Menteri Besar Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif TNB, Datuk Che Khalib Mohamad.

Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri Rawang, Gan Pei Nei melahirkan rasa terkejut dengan tindakan kontraktor pembinaan yang tidak mahu memberhentikan pembinaan meskipun diserah notis oleh Exco Kerajaan Negeri, Elizabeth Wong.

Ahli Parlimen Batu Sapi Terbunuh

KOTA KINABALU 9 Oktober - Ahli Parlimen Batu Sapi Edmund Chong Ket Wah berusia 54 tahun dari Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) terbunuh dalam kemalangan jalan raya di Jalan Sembulan-Tanjung Aru kira-kira jam 11.40 pagi tadi.

Kematian ahli parlimen Barisan Nasional ini akan membawa kepada satu lagi rentetan pilihan raya kecil Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) yang ke-13 selepas kematian penyandang DUN Galas, baru-baru  ini.

1MDB posts RM425 mil net profit

SHAH ALAM 8 October - 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), the strategic development company, posted a net profit of RM425 million for its first financial year ended March 31, 2010.

The result underscores the company's strong corporate governance as it strives to be a strategic enabler for new ideas and source of growth, said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"Indeed, this strengthens my confidence in 1MDB as a critical enabler in the government's economic transformation programme for Malaysia to have a high performance and market-driven economy as well as become a high-income nation."

Court Rules Removal of Sivakumar Was Legit And Valid

PUTRAJAYA 8 October - The court cannot interfere in matters that transpired in Perak state assembly proceedings and its resolution over the removal of V Sivakumar as the speaker, the Court of Appeal said.

Justice Abdul Malik Ishak said whatever had taken place on May 7 last year in the Perak state assembly where Sivakumar was removed as the speaker and was replaced with R Ganesan, was legitimate and validly done according to the law.

Rosnah: Adnan Unfair To Accuse Puteri Umno Only Wants Positions

SHAH ALAM 8 October - Puteri Umno is furious with party secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor's statement that Puteri and Pemuda members are self-serving and only interested in positions.

Puteri Umno chief Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said she was saddened by Adnan's statement and would raise the movement's indignation over the senior leader's criticism at the next supreme council meeting.

She said it was unfair of Tengku Adnan to make such a sweeping statement against Youth and Puteri members who were doing all they could for the party and government.

Racial Principals: Kit Siang Filed Emergency Debate

SHAH ALAM 8 October - Member of Parliment for Ipoh Timor, Lim Kit Siang has filed a notice for an emergency debate when Parliament resumes on Monday to debate the government's inaction against two principals who allegedly uttered racial slurs against minority students.

In a statement today, Lim said that the debate was necessitated by nearly two months of inaction against the two school principals.

Anwar's Lawyers Recall Events At Hotel With Rahimi

SHAH ALAM 8 October - The saga surrounding Anwar Ibrahim's lengthy sodomy trial took yet another twist on Wednesday when his lawyers were accused of having a hand in two disputed statutory declarations implicating Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife.

In his police report, Anwar's former aide Rahimi Osman said that PKR lawyers Latheefa Koya and Saiful Izham Ramli had forced him to sign the declarations.
