SHAH ALAM 5 Oktober - Kumpulan Angkatan Peduli Insan (API) menafikan sekeras-kerasnya tuduhan Ramlan kononnya Mohamed Azmin Ali menawarkan ruang perniagaan di Uptown Gombak sebagai habuan untuk menjatuhkan Menteri Besar Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

"Kami mengakui ahli kami mendapat lesen perniagaan di Uptown Gombak, tetapi ia dipohon oleh ahli-ahli kami yang mempunyai pengalaman dalam perniagaan seumpama itu khususnya di Jalan Masjid India, KL,” katanya pada satu kenyataan.

PUTRAJAYA 5 OKT: Mahkamah Persekutuan hari ini menolak permohonan kebenaran untuk sebuah syarikat pembalakan merayu terhadap keputusan Mahkamah Tinggi mengenepikan perintah mandamus yang memaksa Menteri Besar Pahang membayar RM70 juta termasuk faedah kepada syarikat itu.

Berikutan keputusan majoriti 2-1 oleh panel tiga hakim di sini, Seruan Gemilang Makmur Sdn Bhd (SGMSB) kini berdepan dengan dilema bagaimana dan kepada siapa ia harus menuntut RM70 juta daripada kerajaan negeri.

PETALING JAYA 1 October - Police have cleared Deputy Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister M Saravanan of charges of involvement in drug dealing, prostitution and gangsterism.

"Our investigations show that the charges against Saravanan were baseless and unfounded," Negeri Sembilan CID chief Mohamad Zaki Masroh said.

He added, however, that police had forwarded the investigation papers to the Attorney-General's office for further instruction.

ACP Zaki said police questioned "a few individuals" but did not record Saravanan's statement.

GEORGE TOWN 1 October - Gerakan had to call for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to remove its Penang chief Dr Teng Hock Nan because of his dismal failure to turn around the party's fortunes and improve its political standing among the Penang electorate.

Teng had promised he would “rebuild the party and lead it to the next level” when he was elected as the state chief in October 2008 with a 10-vote majority, claims the Gerakan grassroots movement in Penang (VGG), which engineered the 10-10-10 EGM.

“However, Gerakan’s image and political standing have plummeted over the last two years under Teng’s leadership,” VGG stated in an online statement posted today.

SHAH ALAM 1 October - PKR leaders have been urged today to stop the "incessant attacks" on deputy presidential contender Zaid Ibrahim.

Said party vice-president Jeffrey Kitingan: "I read PKR vice-president Dr Lee Boon Chye's statement yesterday and feel that the timing of the statement was unfortunate, especially with the crucial final round of divisional elections this weekend."

Jeffrey said in a statement that Zaid was not "playing victim" as suggested by Lee. Rather, Zaid's various press interviews "contain his hopes for the party and nothing else".
